Wyvis House Care Home is registered to provide a care home service to up to 50 adults/older people, some of whom may have dementia, mental health problems and/or physical and sensory impairment. At the time of this inspection there were 46 people using the service.
The service was registered with the care inspectorate on 23 March 2009. The provider is Wyvis House Care Home Limited. The care home is located in a modern, three story purpose built building, close to public transport links and local amenities in the town of Dingwall. The accommodation is provided across two floors. It provides spacious, bedrooms with en-suite toilets and showers. There are two double bedrooms which can accommodate couples or people who wish to share a room. Communal spaces include lounges, dining rooms, assisted bathrooms and toilet facilities on both floors. There are also several sitting areas located in quiet areas of the corridors and a cinema room. There is a small enclosed garden area at the front of the building.
The stated aims of the service included:
• attain the best quality of life allowing choice and diversity;
• maintain dignity, privacy and independence;
• provide a modern creative service encouraging participation within the community.
This inspection was carried out by three inspectors from the Care Inspectorate.
