29th November 2016 – Sexual 

Maria, aged in her late 60s was confronted by the defendant as she walked alone through a recreation ground, she was left shaken and distraught after the defendant pulled down his trousers and flashed his genitals at her.

She tried to walk away, and the defendant followed her, clamping his hand around her mouth and neck and hauling her to the ground.  The defendant repeatedly shouted at the victim to “shut up and stop screaming” before getting on top of the victim and forcing her to partially undress. The pensioner was left devastated by the attack which caused “significant psychological trauma” the court heard. 

The defendant was sentenced to five years and three months after he admitted exposure and sexual assault.
